DAY 1 : FLIGHT FRANCE DELHI
Flight to Delhi. You will be greeted on arrival by one of our representatives and then transferred to your hotel.

DAY 2 : DELHI – LEH.
Morning flight for Leh from Delhi. On arrival at Leh you will be greeted by our representative and transfer to hotel for check-in. Spend the day in the hotel for rest and acclimatization. This is very necessary for getting acclimatized at high altitude. Evening one can visit market of Leh.

DAY 3 LEH – SHEY – THIKSAY -HEMIS – LEH.
Visit of ancient monasteries of Indus valley. Hemis is the largest and richest monastery in Ladakh. It was founded in 1633 by the king Singay Namgyal and Lama Staktsang Raspa of Bhutan.Hemis belongs to the Drukpa Kagyu order. Thiksey is one of the most beautiful monasteries of Ladakh, it is known as ‘the mini Potala’. It belongs to the Gelukpa order. The monastery was founded by Lama Paldan Sheyrab the nephew of Sheyrab Zangpo in mid-15th century.
Shey used to be the ancient capital of Ladakh. Shey palace was built by Deldan Namgyal in the beginning of the 17th century. Its 12m Buddha statue made of copper guilt was built by King Deldan Namgyal in the memory of his father Singay Namgyal.

DAY 4: LEH – SPITUK – PHIYANG – ALCHI.
We start our day from Spituk and Phiyang monastery than to Alchi, lunch at Alchi /after lunch we are going to visit the one of the oldest and beautiful monasteries of Ladakh.
The Spituk Gompa was founded in 11th century by Od-De, the elder brother of Lama Changchub-od. The Gompa was named Spituk (exemplary) by Rinchen Zangpo ; a translator came to that place and said that exemplary religious community would rise. Initially the Gompa was run according to the Kadampa School until the reign of King Gragspa Bumlde converted it to Gelukpa order.
Phiyang monastery was founded during reign of King Jamyang Namgyail in 16th century. Phiyang monastery belongs to the red hat sect of Digungpa order. The site of the monastery was received as a gift to Chosje Damma Kunga, given by King Jamyang Namgyail.
Alchi Monastery is also known by the name of Alchi Choskor. Built by great translator Rinchen Zangpo. The oldest monuments preserved here date back to the middle of the 12th century. Alchi monastery is classified World Heritage by UNESCO.

DAY 5 – ALCHI – LAMAYURU – CHILING -SKU.
Two-hour drive to reach Lamayuru, visit the Lamayuru monastery. Lunch at monastery restaurant. Another 150 km to Sku, where you met with the trekking staff.
Lamayuru monastery belongs to the red hat sect of Digungpa order of Tibetan Buddhism. The history of the monastery begins with the visit of Arahat Nimagung to this place, when there was merely
lake here. It is said that Arahat made a prophecy that "a monastery will come up at this spot" and he made offerings (prayer with grains of corn) to the Naga serpent spirits. The corns mixed with the earth and formed in the shape of Swastika (Yungdrung)
Thereafter, Mahasiddha Naropa (1016–1100) visited the place. He spent a long time in strict retreat in a cave there and turned the place into a sacred land. The cave still exists. In 1038 the great translator Rinchen Zangpo (958–1055) built five temples at Lamayuru.
After visiting the monastery and Lunch, we drive to Chilling and than to Sku .Chilling a tiny village known for its handmade copper utensils. Shortly after Chilling, we cross the Zanskar River on a newly built road take us on our adventure through the Markha Valley. Following the Markha River, we come across the villages of Kaya and Sku and follow the trail through willow groves, barley fields, narrow gorges and high cliffs, where you can spot the remains of small 'dzongs' (forts).

DAY 6 : SKU – NAKDING SARA – MARKHA.
Longest day of the Markha valley trek, an early start is advised. Follow a good path on the right bank of Markha River where one can find great vegetation. Then cross the river and pass through barren plains arriving at Nakding. Thereafter, walk along the left bank of river until another village Sara where you can have your picnic in a parachute restaurant. Big crossing and a small climb towards Markha village.

DAY 7 : MARLHA – UMLUNG – TAYCHA – HANGKAR
Visit the small monastery of Markha built in 17th century. Follow the Markha Chu one has to cross the river several times as there are no bridges here. Possibility to visit the Taycha Gompa on the hill top before Umlung village. Then carry on trekking along the left bank of the river until Hankar village. Kangyatse Peak (6400m) dominates the landscape. 30mn walk from the camping small ascend lead you to upper Hankar the trail goes northwards up to the confluence of two rivers Luntang Chu and Nyimaling Chu, follow the Nyimaling Chu, continue in wild valley of Thachungtse.

DAY 8 : THACHUNGTSE – NIMALING.
Half an hour walks from the camping small ascend lead you to upper Hankar. The trail goes northwards up to the Nyimaling. We climb pastures to reach Nyimaling, which is one of most beautiful high valleys in Ladakh, and on the way the views of Kangyatse Peak are simply spectacular.

DAY 9: NYIMALING – KONKA NAKPO LA – LALUNG.
Following the Markha River, we will hike through the lovely valley of Nyimaling on a fairly level path for 2 hrs. Gradually, we will begin our 2-hour ascent towards Kongka Nakpo La (5250m). From the top of the pass there is a spectacular view of the Kangyatse range. We arrive then in beautiful and green valley, where we set up camp among marmots, yaks and wild horses.

DAY 10: LALUNG – KONGCHAN LA – CHAGTSANG LA – LATO – TSOKAR
We start the day with lots of energy, gradually ascent to pass Kongchan La (5150m). Descending steeply for an hour to reach the Kongchan La. After having some rest, we will continue on towards the second pass Chagtsang La (5410m) steep climb. The view from the top is once more breath taking. Going down towards Lato village we have to cross the river for several times.
Drive towards Tsokar via Taglang La (5330m) considered as the 2nd highest motorable road in the world, pass through beautiful landscape and you can spot some wild animal like wild Ass, blue ship, Argali, Marmots and many more. Once you reach to Tsokar visit the Thukjay Gonpa and its cave of Avaloketesvara, and the Tsokar only Salt Lake in Ladakh, here you can spot some migratory birds

DAY 11 : TSOKAR – POLO KONGKA LA - PUGA - TSOM0RIRI.
After breakfast drive to Polokongka la (4920M) and then going down towards Puga. The school for nomadic children in Puga is run by J & K govt. Hot spring is very famous among the Ladakhi and believed to be cure many diseases. In this valley there are lots sulfure mines. After that you will reach a Tibetan village called Sumdo. Another two-hour drive to Tsomoriri with the pass Namsang la (4850m). Visit the Korzok Monastery and then to go view point to enjoy the beauty of the lake during the sunset.

DAY 12: TSOMORIRI – CHUMATHANG – LEH.
Tsomoriri Lake (4550m) is one of the most beautiful high-altitude lakes, situated in the middle of the elevated valley of Rupshu surrounded by many high peaks. Before leaving for Leh, we take a short walk on the shore of the lake to enjoy this splendid place. The long drive back to Leh gives tremendous opportunities for photography. We pass through many villages. Picnic stop at Chumathang and visit of the hot spring.

DAY 13: LEH – FLIGHT TO DELHI – DRIVE TO AGRA
In the Morning after breakfast you will be transfer to Leh Airport to take a flight to Delhi. On arrival at Delhi, you will be drive to AGRA in the state of Uttar Pradesh. During the drive from Delhi to Agra, you can enhance your experience by enjoying everything that lies on the way.Overnight at hotel in AGRA.

DAY 14: TAH MAHAL -DELHI – FLIGHT - FRANCE
Before breakfast, we will take advantage of the sunrise lights to visit the TAJ MAHAL. It's the perfect time to appreciate this world-famous masterpiece. It was built at the request of the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan to immortalize his love for his wife Mumtaz.
Renowned for its perfection and harmony, symmetry and aesthetics. Together we will discover one of the Seven Wonders of the World and one of the greatest architectural gems of Indo-Muslim art. Return to the hotel for breakfast. Then, we will discover the Agra Fort, built of red sandstone by the Mughal emperors. We will then drive back to Delhi Airport. Return flight to France.

The Markha-Rupsho/Kharnak trek is one of the most beautiful and varied trek. Kharnak/Rupsho is located is the high altitude plateau known as Chanthang where people mostly live a nomadic lifestyle. Dazzling landscape, beautiful mountains, changing mountain color, flowing rivers, traditional villages, varied mountain passes hanging colorful prayer flags waving beautifully with the wind also add to the brilliance of Markha Rupsho valley. The trails are decorated by elaborate chortens (stupas) and mani walls that further exemplify the region's total immersion in Buddhist culture. You may feel relaxed and of course excited to be in such a wonderful place. The area is also rich in biodiversity and you will enjoy the rare opportunity to witness some very distinct wild flora and fauna of Ladakh.
