Shekhawati: This semi-desert region is located in the northeast of Rajasthan and is named after Rao Shekha (1433–1488). Shekhawati is renowned for its magnificent havelis (mansions) built by wealthy merchants. Situated along caravan routes, these grand havelis served multiple purposes: ensuring the security and privacy of the women of the house and protecting against the intense summer heat. Their grandeur has earned this region the title of "The Open-Air Art Gallery."

Bikaner is a city located in the Thar Desert, in the northern part of the state. It was founded in 1488 by Rao Bikaji, a son of Rao Jodha, the founder of Jodhpur. In the morning, after breakfast, we will depart for Jaisalmer. Along the way, we will stop to see salt production in Bap. In Phalodi, we will leave the main road to go to Khichen to see the demoiselle cranes.

The journey to Jaisalmer is long. We will pass through Pokhran and several villages. We will arrive in Jaisalmer late in the day, check into a charming hotel for a two-night stay, and then head out to admire the sunset and visit Bara Bagh.
Bada Bagh, the royal tomb, is located on a small hill within a garden complex about six kilometres north of Jaisalmer. The commemorative chhatri cenotaphs are all carved from blocks of yellow sandstone and were built in at least four different sizes: for the kings, their queens, their princes, and other royal family members. Each cenotaph has a marble plaque with inscriptions about the deceased king and a symbolic image of a man on horseback.

Jodhpur is the second-largest city in Rajasthan after Jaipur. Dominated by a massive fortress, Jodhpur was founded by Rao Jodha in 1459, the leader of the Rajput Rathor clan.
